THE TRAVELLER’S TREE OR RAVINALA

"The Traveller’s Tree" is the Malagasy national emblem. Both gracious, unwonted and useful, it is the symbol of the union between nature and human being.

In fact, its leaves have foliar basics boat-shaped in which the rain water gathered. This tasteless water, usually unpolluted is drinkable. It allows the thirsty traveller to drink.

Moreover, its floury seed, well grinded and cooked with milk, constitutes a good food for young children.

Furthermore, Its whole leaves are used to cover the huts and its trunks provide plank and divining wall.

Finally, the fibre from the whole plant is of a good quality and fit particularly to the preparation of paper paste.

Bring in your case basic medicines (aspirine, doliprane, against diarrhoea for children …) to give to villagers.
