EDUCATION AS A FACTOR OF DEVELOPPEMENT AND MOTOR OF DEMOCRACY

To encourage the starting up of a communal economy :

In accordance with the donor’s generosity and in order to help the village reach autonomy, our intervention scope will broaden so as to include economical projects.

The village considers dealing with :

- Pisciculture. Our intervention would consist of providing raw materials (cement, iron ;……),
- Stock farming (chicken breeding).

The village should, within a short term, be able to count upon its own forces. The vegetable garden, stock farming and piscisulture should have to generate revenues. The villagers should have to manage their production by creating a “seed bank” for the following season.

The village members should seize the project and be able to draw surpluses, ensuring, together with economic autonomy, the perenniality of the educational action.

Hygiene and prevention :

Spécial attention should be attached to health issues.

Children’s general bad health and their inaccessibility to basic medical care are one the major causes of infantile mortality. The most common illnesses are well known: malaria, intestinal troubles, various infections, ect……

Health is therefore an obligation for all. This is why a specific sanitary action will complete the actions currently led within the school environment.

To achieve this, the school teacher will add a basic educational programme as to elementary hygiene and prevention (daily washing, regular washing of hands before eating, daily teeth brushing…ect…..).
